Great Grandma's Chocolate Cake

This is the old fashioned way of making a cake! My Great Grandma's recipe! Ive been eating and making this as long as I can remember!

1. Melt in a large saucepan 2 sticks butter! Start preheating oven to 350°F.

2. Measure in a large bowl 2 cups flour, 2 cups white sugar.

3. Add to melted butter 4 Tablespoons cocoa powder.

4. Add to butter and Cocoa 1 cup water and let boil. (This is when the heavenly scent of chocolate shall find its way to each nose in your house!)

5. Add whats in your saucepan to your sugar & flour mixture! (You may pause, close your eyes, and indulge of the aroma once more) Stir until completely mixed.

6. Add in two eggs.

7. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda

8. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

9. 1/2 cup buttermilk (I couldn't find any buttermilk in stores so I put 1 tablespoon white vinegar in a measuring cup and filled it to 1 cup the rest of the way with milk)

10. Once its all mixed together put into a cake dish or you can make it brownie style like this. For brownies cook about 20-30mins. For cake cook longer.

11. This part is for the frosting. Melt one more stick of butter!

12. Add 1/3 cup buttermilk and 4 Tablespoons Cocoa to melted butter (in this pic, I just had them in a separate bowl, but it doesnt matter!)

13. Mix the butter with buttermilk and cocoa until boiling.

14. Add yummy chocolate heaven to 1 box powdered sugar. Mix together.

15. Add in 1 teaspoon vanilla.

16. Beat with egg beater until completely blended and frosting like.

17. You'll want to pour the frosting on while the cake is still hot! This makes it extra delicious!
